It took me forever to find a good Vietnamese restaurant in LA - especially being born and raised in a Vietnamese household and in a close Vietnamese community, my standards are up there. Finally found a place downtown that tastes like home. Enter Pho 87 who makes pho just and bun bo hue (a spicy beef noodle soup) just like mom. Aside from it being cash only, it has my snobby Vietnamese stamp of approval.
