Around summer of last year, Alexis from Local Eclectic hit me up at the possibilities of working together. It only took an hour phone call of convincing her with some ideas I had, but a month later she arrange one of my favorite jewelry designers to come to my house with an open mind. Why I love A Peace Treaty so much is her belief in artisanship and the beauty of craft, and why I love Local Eclectic so much is her belief in collaboration which in the end, brought us all together.

 Now about the collection. It's a choker, earring set, and a ring. All made with opal - one of my favorite crystals with its iridescent spectrum of light. I've been making wishlists since grade school because they're fool-proof. And while I don't expect anyone to drop four c-notes on disco shoes for me, it's a nice reminder of what I can spoil myself with once the holiday season is over (that's the thing with having a December birthday). I'm not gonna beat around the bush; I love that one day (or week?) of the year, I can obnoxiously make it all about me. It's what I've waited 364 days for. 1. Black boots I have a large enough arsenal of black booties, but what I'm not opposed to is a good swap out. Sell one to consignment and introduce a funkier pair. DORATEYMUR mishmashes Marie Antionette and 80s punk into a shoe hybrid you didn't know what you wanted.

2. Photography book Indulging in heavy imagery is a huge part in my creative process, and Mario Sorrenti is one of the absolute best because of his diaristic approach. There's something sentimental and organic about his point-of-view: plastered archives on a wall that found its way into book form: Draw Blood For Proof. Why I don't own this yet is beyond me, but another great suggestion is Quentin de Briey's The Other Day. I was lucky to pick up a copy my trip to Paris.

3. Silk pillowcase When it comes to my beauty regimen, I want think about it once, then never again. So if all I have to do is invest sleep on silk for a beautiful tomorrow, then sign me up. I finally found a thoughtful brand, Slip, that invests in our silky slumber.

4. Simple bedding While we're still talking about sleep, I am going to change your standard with propor linens. Shopping for bedding is overly complicated and finally Brooklinen simplified it without compromise. I have a grey set but already want a new set to procrastinate laundry day even further.

5. Fancy candles If you don't know what to get someone, candles are always the easiest, chicest option. It's one of those things that people really want but never spend the money on. Can I just mention how dangerous it is living walking-distance to a Diptyque? Boredom purchases are far more common than welcome so I can attest for many scents. Ambre, Tuberose, and Geranium Rose are the ones worth revisiting. Especially if they come in the colored jars.

6. Monthly membership I should want to pay for my own workouts, but Classpass is one of those things that I can easily justify not paying for. So if given in gift format, the guilt overrides laziness and I am given no other choice than to go.

7. Boxing gloves But if I am using Classpass, yoga and boxing studios are the only workouts that keep me sane and attentive. I own everything I could possibly need for yoga, but borrowing boxing gloves is gross. It's actually way worse than borrowing bowling shoes so for that, it's time to own my own pair. But it's another procrastinated purchase, so until someone gifts me the guilt of not working out, my gloves will live on a wishlist.

8. Portable speaker Weston officially spoiled me with the gift of Sonos in my apartment - allowing Jesse Woods in the AM to Mariah Carey by PM. My musical dwelling unfortunately comes to a complete halt when I travel. So, it's time to make the same investment to a rhythmic mobile lifestyle. Something clean, portable, and quality - like this one from B&O.

9. Vegan cookbook A clean diet has always been part of my upbringing. While I'm not vegan, I neither live the opposite. I glanced through Alicia's book while waiting for my habitual Friday night kimchi bowl pickup at my favorite, M Cafe. I found charming her excerts charming and loved her articulation on the vegan lifestyle. Definitely interested in reading more into this, but before I single-handedly meet M Cafe's nightly sales quota in one swipe, I decided to leave this gift to fate.

10. Single earring Support local businesses - go gift shopping around your neighborhood. While it's not in my neighborhood, my friend Geraldine has a rad shop with good curations. Like this Meadowlark singled-out earring.

11. Cast Iron Skillet A better tool for better cooking. Receiving this as a gift is more like receiving a compliment of culinary graduation: you are mature enough to respect and care for a cast-iron skillet.

12. Annual Splurge Since my very first paycheck, I've made an annual splurge on one pair of shoes. All you need is one really, really rad pair to feel brand new. This pair inspired this whole post, so while I contemplate the longevity of my lust for shiny disco sandals, I'm going to sign off here.

The past couple years, I've thrown out lots of iffy, chemically products for more natural ones. Ones that I can understand where the ingredients come from. Better if it's just one ingredient. I definitely feel a shift in the industry making is way easier to discover natural products that leaves you feeling less guilty about what you're putting on your skin. My regimen isn't completely holistic, but here are things I've swapped out for the better!

I also got to sit with Amy Pham from The Platform to talk more about it. But I had to take it to my blog because I can never articulate anything properly in front of a crew of people. Blaming it on stage fright and getting the giggles. So here it is broken down from left to right.

100 Percent Pure eyecream
First of my many favorites from this line. Talk about feeling completely guiltless using products. This brand uses no synthetics at all!!! So amazing and the quality feels exactly what is advertised: pure.

Dr. Bronner's Castile soap 
The jack of all trades for your home. There's a list of 18 uses for it that extends into kitchen usage! I have yet to experiment with it as toothpaste... probably pass on that. But it's great for cleaning your tiles and your body!

Shea Moisture shampoo
Actually forgot to bring this on set, but I love this shampoo! It's not clarifying, but I like it because it doesn't strip your hair of moisture making just-shampooed hair look like Day 2 hair. That's what we all want right? I also have to mention that my hair is naturally very coarse and wavy - this helps with the frizziness and actually relaxes a lot of my curls.

Tea Tree Oil
Another household staple. Tea tree oil kills bacteria. Best used on acne or infections. I've found many uses for this. One of which is TMI; another is to help heal my cartilage piercing.

W3ll People loose powder
Let's get into makeup, shall we? This is another great brand, and W3ll developed most of their product around the power of aloe. I want makeup that works double-times and there are a lot of goodie ingredients that are actually good for the skin. Guilt free x2.

RMS living luminizer
I've raved, blogged, vlogged, lusted, recommended this all year. Because of RMS, I started looking more into natural makeup. Something about how synthetic-free, raw, unprocessed, unrefined makeup sits on the skin makes me never want to look back. I use this highlighter in the corner of my eyes, cheekbones, nose bridge, anywhere that I feel lacks life. It brings out the most natural dew, and it doesn't look like makeup. It's insane.

100 Percent Pure Lipstick (in Poppy)
Another 'ahah!' moment when I tried 100 Percent Pure's make up line. Well, I've only used their lipstick but am excited to explore more. It was the same moment of like, "oh, this is how makeup is supposed to sit on your face". The swatches are gorgeous and all fruit dyed.

Alba Botanics deodorant
I could probably find a more natural deodorant on the market (recommendations??!). I've seen people rub lemons in their pits as deodorant but I'm not quite on that level yet. Till then, I'm going to continue using this as it's been doing the job. Tried the salt stick, didn't like it. It's pretty important to get a natural deodorant as the nature of the product is to sit on your skin ALL day and work along side your pores.

Honest hand sanitizer spray 
Kudos to Jessica Alba for this company. It's great and I do trust everything that comes from their doors. Albeit just a little thing from their line, I've grown fond of this hand sanitizing spray - even if my boyfriend hates the smell of it and won't let me spray within a closed proximity of him.

Witch hazel 
I've been using witch hazel for a while now as a toner. It helps with inflammation and broken skin (aka when I break out). It's also a good skin setter thing after cleansing before putting on moisturizer.

100 Percent Pure hand balm 
This sits in my car next to my hand sanitizing spray. It's good. People like it and ask to borrow it a lot.

Rose hip oil 
I read an interview which Miranda Kerr personally stated that she used this during the pregnancy to prevent stretch marks. One, I will pick up any skin care tips Kerr recommends. Two, I learned this is a great oil with tons of fatty acids that helps with scarring and stretch marks. Sold.

Karma Natural nail polish remover
Once on set, someone gave me natural, organic nail polish remover wipes and then I wondered why I didn't have this all my life. No more acetone that dries your skin and emits fumes and chemicals. This remover in particular works damn well and leaves your nails feeling really healthy. Every time I use it, I am convinced my nails look better naked.

Skyn Iceland face wipes

I can't believe how much content I have saved up that I never posted. Maybe you guys read earlier in the week or you're just tuning in, but I'm purging all the content of my blonde hair. It's just weird to post photos of myself looking a certain way when I know I will never be this color again.

At first I was really bummed - like super emotional in the car ride because I've grown really attached to the excitement of being blonde. It's true; you have more fun as a blonde. People interact with you differently with blonde hair. There was this amazing read - and I'm sort of in a rush to post this (otherwise I would put a little more thought and a little less vomit into my post right now), but Emily Weiss articulates the transition perfectly and candidly. She said it all. It's a must read.

I couldn't bare to go back to my normal hair color right away. More on that later. But now, with darker hair, I feel at home again.

WORD VOMIT: You guys - do you remember when I did this thing called "Shop Chic" and sold all my clothes on it? Well it's happening again... soon. I have this burning urge to get rid of everything, and every time I lose something in one of my three closets, I question my sanity. This isn't good for me.

I'm currently in the mind-fuck of my physical 'stuff' being super unorganized, thus, my mental 'stuff' is super unorganized. That's probably why this post doesn't make as much sense as I'd like. You heard right, I have three closets - all of which are poorly compartmentalized and lack functionality... like my thoughts.

For now, I am selling my clothes on Bib + Tuck and went through it tonight to discount everything even more. Seriously, there's some good deals in there. Check it out. 

Well since this is a fashion blog, I will (hopefully) indulge your eyes in pretty photos. As you know I moved last year, except there has been no real documentation on my blog. There is some on Instagram and YouTube. Hoping to do an updated apartment tour soon. The idea (among many others) is documented somewhere between my written thoughts and plans for the year.
